Zuvor noch ein grosses Dankeschön an Linden von Vine Lines Quilting, die diesen Quilt Along QAL hervorragend begleitet. Nicht nur das, veröffentlicht sie auch wöchentlich Interviews der QAL Teilnehmerinnen in ihrem Blog.
Ja - du hast es schon erraten, diese Woche bin ich an der Reihe. Das Interview ist auf Englisch - ich hoffe, das macht nicht allzu große Probleme.
Auch möchte ich mich bei Rachel von Sew Today, Clean Tomorrow bedanken, die letzte Woche einerseits über Border 2 schrieb und andrerseits schon einen kleinen Ausblick auf diesen meinen Blogeintrag gab!
Today I'll continue with the Aviatrix Medallion Quilt - with Border 3.

Yes - you've correctly guessed, this week it's my turn which makes me very, very proud!
I would also like to thank Rachel from Sew Today, Clean Tomorrow, who on one hand posted last week about Border 2 and on the other hand announced so nicely my today's post!
Und nun Schritt für Schritt ...
And now step by step ...
Entsprechend der Vorlage habe ich mal die einzelnen Teile aufgelegt ...
Following the pattern I placed the fabrics ...
... schnitt die Nahtzugabe auf 1/4 Inch ...
... trimmed away the excess fabric ...
... bügelte die Nähte offen ...
... pressed the seams open ...
... fügte die einzelnen Teile wieder aneinander ...
... arranged the x and plus units ...
... und nähte schliesslich die Teile zu einem wunderschönen Kreuz.
... and sew the units to finish the block.
Und das 20 mal!
Mit jedem Block lernte ich dazu. Bei den X Teilen (oberstes Bild) zeichnete ich Hilfslinien für die Naht. Es dauerte eine Weile, bis ich verstand, dass ich einen Hauch neben dieser Hilfslinie nähen muss, um die gewünschte Breite der schrägen X Teile zu erreichen.
I did this 20 times!
With each block I learned a lot. In some parts (top picture) I draw diagonal lines with a fabric marker for the diagonal seams. It took a while before I understood that I need to sew next to this line in order to achieve the desired width of the oblique X parts.
In zwei Wochen geht es mit Border 4 weiter - darüber wird uns Debra von Stitching Rules berichten. Bitte gleich im Kalender markieren, damit ihr es nicht versäumt!
In two weeks Debra from Stitching Rules will tell us how she did with Border 4. I'm so looking forward and got it already listed in my calendar! So will you, won't you?
